Local Christmas Decorations
We’re just 2 weeks away from Christmas, meaning the Christmas spirit is well and truly alive! St George is one of Sydney’s BEST spots to view Christmas light decorations! So much so that the locals usually do a full tour with the children to witness all the sparkling lights and even Christmas kangaroos – Yes, you read that right!

- Jubilee Avenue, Beverly Park
- Souter Street AND 36 Madrers Avenue, Kogarah
- Add Madrers Avenue to the top of your list! It will blow your mind with 50,000 lights, 2 window displays, a singing bear, moving reindeers and so much more!
- Dillon St, Ramsgate
- Hodge St, Hurstville

Carss Bush Park
Location: Carss Bush Park, Carss Park
There are plenty of play areas for the kids, go for a walk and set yourselves up for a peaceful picnic with the ocean view.
Georges River National Park
For generations, this national park has been loved for its scenery, BBQ and picnic areas, fishing, relaxation and exercise to say the least! If you love water activities, then Georges River National Park is perfect for you!

Why go all the way to Bondi Beach for Christmas at the sea when we’ve got the beautiful Brighton-Le-Sands? This beach has been a favourite spot for families and friends to hang out and basque in the sun!
New Years Eve 31st December 2019
Want dinner AND fireworks sorted all in one place? Visit Miranda Westfield Shopping centre!
For the children, there will be family entertainment running from 4pm-9pm on the Rooftop Main Stage – Dora the Explorer and Smurfs?! How can the kids say no?
Be sure to catch their Rooftop Fireworks at 9pm!
Botany Bay Fireworks
Want to avoid the city madness? Aim to be home by 12am? The Botany Bay Fireworks is here to save the day, and hassle.
The fireworks start at 9pm – not 12am! For families worrying if the kids can stay awake, this one’s for you!
The beachfront vantage points are:
- Lady Robinsons Beach
- Dolls Point
Be sure to head down a little early to secure a good spot to watch the fireworks.
The locals love to have a picnic or grab some take away fish and chips near the beach. There are public BBQs and bins available!

Book a table at Omeros on the Beach and get an amazing view of the Botany Bay Fireworks in comfort.

Note that traffic and parking will be a challenge, especially with the road closures on the Grand Parade and surrounding streets, Bright Le Sands. The local Bayside Council recommends using public transport.
Let’s protect our beach – please take your rubbish with you! Bring a picnic basket, and please bring plastic cups and containers as glass is not permitted in these areas.
