As the school holidays approach, we have pulled together the ultimate Sydney School Holiday guide for you to keep your whole family busy in the St George area. If you’re looking for ideas to get your kiddos out the door and out of your hair, look no further! We’ve done the hard work for you.
Head to the Local Park
You can’t go wrong with a trip to a playground and a picnic. Sit down, relax and make a day of it whilst your kids use up all their energy levels on playground equipment. No cost involved! Here are our tip picks for parks in the St George area.
- Cahill Park Playground -2 Princes Hwy, Wolli Creek NSW 2205
- Riverine Park -146 W Botany St, Arnclifffe NSW 2205
- Cook Park –The Grand Parade, Ramsgate Beach NSW 2217
- Carss Bush Park – Carwar Ave, Carss Park NSW 2221
The roads are quieter in school holidays and we have more time! Spend the afternoon basking in the sun and riding a bike at Brighton Le Sands Beach. Although the beach is located near the very busy Grand Parade at Brighton Le Sands, you won’t believe how quiet and pleasant it is!
Watch the latest children’s film at Beverly Hills Cinema
There are so many good movies to entertain the kids and both the adults these school holidays. Pull on your child-at-heart’s strings by watching Toy Story 4 or Aladdin, or watch Secret Life of Pets 2. They’re also having a Christmas in July session where a selection of timeless childrens specials will be screened in cinemas for $10!
Have a Pizza Party at Home with the Kids
You can either order pizza or make pizza at home (I prefer the latter!) It’s a perfect way to have fun without breaking the bank. This works especially well if the kids have a few friends over. Just buy the toppings and dough base, and have a competition as to who makes the best pizza – parents can be the judge. Plus an added bonus – you don’t have to cook dinner!
Christmas in July
On Thursday 11 July, the St George Motor Boat Club will be celebrating Christmas in July with 100 half-ham raffles – purchase on the day! Click here to find out more.
These are my recommendations for the St George area. If you’re looking for a fun, exciting family day out during school holidays – you’ll be sure to find something suitable for you.
